Inyathelo Study into Governance Practices
Commissioned by the national Department of Social Development in 2008, Inyathelo conducted an exploratory study into governance practices amongst national organisations and national networking structures.

Inyathelo Submission with Endorsements on the Draft Code of Governance Principles for South Africa
In April 2009, Inyathelo made a submission to the King Committee on the draft version of the King III Code of Governance.
This submission was supported by 57 other organisations.
The King Report of Governance in South Africa (King IV)
The institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA) informally introduced the King Code of Governance Principles and the King report on Corporate Governance (King III) in September 2009.
The third report on corporate governance in South Africa became necessary because of the new Companies Act and changes in international trends.
The King IV report was released in November 2016 with a special sector supplement Section 6.3 Supplement for non-profit organisations.
The Nonprofit Organisations Directorate
The Nonprofit Organisations Directorate was established in terms of the Nonprofit Organisations Act 71 of 1997 to regulate the sector and administer the Register of Nonprofit Organisations in South Africa.
