What does the Independent Code Logo mean and how can you use it?

• The logo is a small, easy-to-recognise identity stamp for The Independent Code and can be used by non-profit organisations that have subscribed to the code.
• The logo can be uploaded onto websites, email signatures, documents, proposals, reports, submissions and other materials to indicate that an organisations has subscribed to The Independent Code.
• The logo represents PRINCIPLES of good governance, not necessarily practice. Displaying the logo indicates that an organisation subscribes to the principles outlined in The Independent Code.
• The logo does NOT mean that organisations who have subscribed are practising these principles and is NOT, at this stage, any kind of ‘seal of approval’ on their governance. It is not possible at this stage to watchdog practice or monitor compliance – donors and other interested stakeholders will still need to carry out their own due diligence processes when exploring relationships with potential partners.
